At Sparks Academy it’s about the kid not the curriculum. We focus on collaboration not competition. We foster relationships through community. We use technology as a tool to enhance our understanding and communication. We empower students to nurture and grow a hopeful view of the world and their place within it. We strive to SPARK a curiosity that ignites a lifelong passion and a love for learning.
JULIE'S STYLE OF TEACHING ACTIVELY ENGAGES MY CHILDREN WHILE GIVING THEM AUTONOMY OVER THEIR OWN LEARNING EXPERIENCE. BOTH OF MY CHILDREN LOVE EXPERIMENTING WITH WHATEVER NEW ADVENTURE JULIE HAS LAID FORTH. A FEW OF THEIR FAVORITE PARTS OF JULIE'S STYLE OF EDUCATION IS THE HANDS ON EXPLORATION, EXPERIMENTATION AND ENGAGING CONVERSATION. THANK YOU JULIE FOR ENHANCING OUR HOMESCHOOL!
Sparks gives us a way to integrate other teachers, subjects, and perspectives into our homeschool life. I love that individual expression and mood are honored.
Sparks gives my kids the opportunity to to work alongside or collaboratively with peers outside our family. They are exposed both explicitly and passively to perspectives and approaches they would not encounter in our home. The synthesis of ideas, the depth and breadth of discussions is not something we can achieve on our own. Additionally, activities that may seem unappealing when initiated by mom take on a whole new allure as a Sparks activity.
Sparks provides a community for my children and myself to call home. The collaborative aspect of the families and the school working together to create opportunities for deep learning and growth is incomparable. My children love going to Sparks and I know when they are there that they will be honored for who they are, respected as human beings, and given the freedom to explore and develop their interests, abilities, and intellect. I believe Sparks is providing a space for children to learn a new way of being that will better serve them in the world than a traditional school setting. They are given the opportunity to be innovative, to think outside the box, and to figure out what they want to contribute to the world on their own terms.
